If you just want to look good with your bluetooth earbud, enjoy running out of juice when you need it.I never do. This headset provides more than adequate volume, and the boom eliminates road noise, and other ambient noise better than any other I have used. The wire is a negative, but not as negative as the nagging effort to recharge the bluetooth set. I have advised many friends to try this one, and all agree.if you can put up with a wire.there is none better. I have tried numerous headsets for my cell phone, from full headsets to bluetooth earbuds. This underear, wired headset is by far, the best performing unit I have ever used. The low cost means that I can leave them in my vehicles, office, and other places, so one is always within reach.
Plus, this headset it a _lot_ pricier. By contract, with my Jabra C500 I keep the phone volume at 3 (out of 8). I don't know if mine is defective, but I can only hear at a reasonable level when both the phone and headset volume are set to max. I've owned several other "over-the-ear" designs with earpiece gels that are much more comfortable for long term wear. I was very disappointed with this product. The wire includes a volume/mute control. Also, the "under-the-ear" design and swivel earpiece aren't that comfortable.
Also person on the other end hears you very well. It has a mute/unmute and volume control button on the headset wire.
But headsets are affordable now so hoping this one will last me years as my previous Plantronics model did. I use it for hours at a time while working from home and it remains comfortable.
mute/unmute is a button you press and state is indicated by green or red color. On this model though none of the parts are replaceable so if something breaks you could not replace just that part.
The Plantronics MX500C is very comfortable wear on the ear and you can hear very well. I use it with my cordless land line phone set.
I like the fact that the talk tube is adjustable so you can position it closer to your mouth.
